    Hopefully.

Plus Ervin playing all over the OF and Blandino all over the IF.

The Reds need to see these guys play, whether they can be counted on for 2020.

I don't understand why Blandino is considered so great to be mentioned so much. Makes me wonder what I'm missing. I see him as a lifetime sub.

I think he's better than VanMeter, but time will tell.

I happen to like Blandino a bit, but I do think we need to temper the expectations for VanMeter, Ervin, Blandino, Aquino and any other player that hits over the next couple months. By all means, give them extended looks, but the organization needs to ante up on bats this offseason. It'd be crazy to spend the resources they have on the rotation and then go into the season with these fringe-y everyday players on the basis of a late-summer trial period. They need established bats. The 1993 Braves rotation wouldn't do you any good with the Reds returning bats.

Agree. At least Reds won’t have to worry about the rotation this off-season. So it’ll be bats and relievers.

So true...they can into this season with better hitters than those guys and the offense sunk them.

Depth is important, so if those guys prove somewhat capable it's still handy to have them somewhere in the org.

I don't think Blandino is getting a call before Sep.

Which is fine by me, he needs to be playing everyday - if that's Louisville - fine.

Could be dependent on how much he plays or where the Giants finish.
    I'm not a system player. I am a system.
