This is a big one today. Win today and you accomplish the goal of taking 3 out of 4 and really showing the NL we are a threat.
Peraza as protection for Aquino? come on man
Ervin vs LHP 1.381 OPS
Peraza vs LHP .703 OPS
Our Manager "let's bat Peraza ahead of Ervin vs LHP".

Lester is coming off his worst start of the year after giving up 11 runs in 4 innings to Oakland.
Top 4 Cubs relievers still out Kimbrel, Kintzler, Cishek and Ryan.
The Reds will be wearing their 1969 throwback uniforms today. One of my all-time favorite Reds uniforms when worn right

Very happy for Peraza. Brutal start but he has really turned it around. He’s been a big part of this run and will be a big part of the future. Bell has the offense rolling, no need to question it.

Cubs will be very feisty today I’d bet. They know what this game means. Reds will have to rise to the occasion as well to beat them.
Let’s score 12

The 1969 Reds were 89-73, finishing in 3rd place in the NL West, 4 games behind the Braves. The Reds were managed by Dave Bristol. (Nine of the 12 clubs in the National League finished at .500 or better in 1969. The expansion Padres and Expos finished with identical 52-110 records, and the Phillies were 63-99.)
On August 11, 1969, the Reds defeated the Phillies, 4-3 at Crosley Field. The Reds' lineup for that game:
Pete Rose rf
Jimmy Stewart cf
Alex Johnson lf
Tony Perez 3b
Lee May 1b
Johnny Bench c
Woody Woodward ss
Chico Ruiz 2b
Jim Merritt p
Eric Stratton, Rush Chairman. Damn glad to meet ya.

The simplicity of these 1969 uniforms really emphasize how busy and messy the Reds current uniforms are. Especially the lettering and numbers.
