RHP R.J. Alaniz and optioned to Louisville RHP Matt Bowman.
Alaniz was claimed off waivers from Seattle on May 31. He posted a 2.93 ERA over 25 appearances (27.2 IP) with the Bats. He will wear No. 32.
Hopefully Ruben Alaniz will pitch better than he did with the Mariners earlier in the year 4 innings, 11hits, 9 earned runs, 3 home runs allowed, 3 walks and a 20. 25 in 4 appearances.
Matt, it may be ironic to send you back down after just one game, but considering how you performed in that game, you ought to know.

Two guys who's "stuff" just never impressed me (a noted non-scout) were Herget and Bowman. Obviously I want to see a lot more from Kuhnel, but the next AAA guy I'd like to see is Alex Powers. At least to evaluate.
