Reds 2019 Schedule and Upcoming 10 “Winnable” Games

Reds so far have had the second toughest schedule in MLB in terms of opponents’
W-L record. The expanded standings show Reds have played only 33 games against teams currently below .500. Only the Marlins have played fewer, with 28.* Reds are 17-16 against teams below .500.

The Reds now get a break from that tough schedule facing SD, Pittsburgh and Miami for a total of ten games. This could be the most “winnable” stretch of the season. Of course the last two series are on the road where Reds are currently 23-35.

*Marlins are 18-39 against NL East teams so they’ve helped some of their main opponents stay above .500.

68-65 puts 'em right back in this thing heading to St. Louis. If the Mets can do it...

I refuse to do it to myself.

If it happens, good. But I’m not letting myself dream.

The Reds are 4 and 6 in their last 10

But they are going to magically win 10 in a row?

The last time they won 10 in a row was July if 2012 - Feels like that was a better team

All I want to do is get to September 1st within 5 games of first.

If that happens, I'll make a case in my head as to why we can make the playoffs.

San Diego has the same record as us, and they have actually been better on the road.....Pittsburgh will almost never be easy for us.

Real story here is we're gonna have a fistfight in Pittsburgh. I'm half-expecting David Bell to go full Reg Dunlop and put a bounty on Clint Hurdle.

They did have a 9-1 stretch last year. It's not likely, but...it's baseball. They could go 0-10 or 10-0 or anything between.

You know I’ve watched that NSFW breakdown of the Garrett brawl on Youtube dozens of times. One thing that feels like a letdown is where they show Bell charging at Hurdle like a bull, but instead of a takedown all we got was a light push. That was Bell’s chance and I doubt he gets it back.

If Reds can go 7-3 over these “winnable” ten games I’ll be pretty happy about it.

    That would result in 65-68.

Sounds about right. That's exactly where they hit "resistance," just like a stock, and bounce back down.

Bell's got to send in a berserker.

8-2 would be really nice.....would bust through that 3 games below .500 that we have topped out at a few times

But 8-2 is really hard no matter who you play. Even the Orioles and Tigers win more than 30% of their games. Currently there isn't one team in MLB on an 8-2 run.
