St. Louis Cardinals strike on the free agent market, bringing back Wainwright.

My guess from this is the Reds plan on spending 90% of their free agent dollars on offense.

Gabe Kapler gets another shot at managing right away, he's the pick in San Francisco to replace Bochy.
“I don’t care,” Votto said of passing his friend and former teammate. “He’s in the past. Bye-bye, Jay.”

Man that guy is slimy. I wonder how many women in SF had input in this decision?

“#Reds interested in Nicholas Castellanos and Marcell Ozuna as free-agent outfield market begins to take shape. (@dgoold was first to link Ozuna with Cincinnati.) More details here: mlb.com/news/castellan… @MLB @MLBNetwork”

The play might be to trade Winker; or platoon him with Aquino in RF.
I don’t see Cast/Ozuna playing CF. That would be Senzel or a new acquisition.
Wouldn’t be shocked if Winker gets traded. Should have value. Has been injury prone and now platoons.
Not sure all this is the Reds’ first choice, but they may not get their first choice(s). Just a possible scenario.

Well, outside of Rendon I think the Reds have now been attached to every bat on the market. I just think they are feeling everyone out to see if they are open to Cincy, and if the money matches with what the reds think they're worth.
Kristopher Negron has officially retired.

Have they been tied to Puig? I've been waiting to hear that, but if so, I missed it. Personally, I think he's in for a good 2020, although I'd probably go Castellanos first, even though Puig's more fun. Thing is, though, Castellanos' D isn't good, just better than Ozuna's.
It is on the whole probable that we continually dream, but that consciousness makes such a noise that we do not hear it. Carl Jung.
I've been a little surprised by no mention of Puig either. Makes me wonder if 4 months of him was enough to wear out his welcome with management. Or it could be that they reached out to his agent and found what he's looking for is just not even in the same realm they were thinking.
