C'mon...Chapman's situation has no resemblance to Castillo's. Yes, it was a huge screwup but the FO in charge, the circumstances around AC and the Reds point in rebuilding are all different. If the Yanks expect the best for nothing in return that's bc they feel like the rest of baseball is their farm team. An arrogance they foist on all of baseball....
99% of all numbers only tell 33% of the story so when looking at the numbers remember that numbers is plural...

It wasn't a serious point about Chapman, just a frustrated bit of sarcasm. Of course the Yankees think of the rest of MLB, especially as in provincial towns like Cincinnati, as their farm system. It's why my first hope in the MLB playoffs is always that the winner be anybody but the Yankees. Even Boston or the Dodgers if that must be.

Maybe if Castillo chokes his fiancé.

Well, they traded Chapman for peanuts and he did not choke his fiance either.
His girlfriend's brother lied, she said so. The police found no bruises or other evidence. Please stop making this false insinuation.

[Phil ] Castellini celebrated the team's farm system and noted the team had promising prospects who would one day be great Reds -- and then joke then they'd be ex-Reds, saying "of course we're going to lose them". #SellTheTeamBob

    not really a rumor....just speculation.

Francisco Lindor landing spots: Four teams that could be interested in a blockbuster trade this winter

    1. Los Angeles Dodgers
    2. Cincinnati Reds

A Lindor trade would likely cost them at least one of Nick Lodolo, Jonathan India, Hunter Greene and Tyler Stephenson. It might be worth it, seeing as how Lindor would fit in nicely at shortstop for the Reds, giving them another star-level contributor to go with Eugenio Suarez and (potentially) Joey Votto and Nick Senzel. Do note the Reds were reportedly in on catcher Yasmani Grandal before he signed with the Chicago White Sox, suggesting they're primed to throw some money around in the name of beefing up.

    3. Atlanta Braves
    4. Arizona Diamondbacks

Yes, his speculation covered four teams that would want him, but did not consider the Indians needs in his article. As he said he was lost in a daydream. He certainly was not in reality.

fwiw, Dodgers fans appear to be picking up smoke from somewhere that they have been in discussions with the Indians since seasons end for Lindor. Also, there is speculation around the league the Indians may move him this summer.

But he was in headlines for it at a time when Domestic Violence allegations were the trend of the day, embarrassing franchises, which killed Chapman's price tag.

The Cleveland front office is known for setting a high price and sticking to it. If their price isn't met, he will be an Indian in 2020.They set a price for Bauer and Kluber last off season and did not trade them. They traded Bauer at the deadline as a deal was reached that met their price and needs.

The Dodgers have the pieces to get him, but the price will be steep.

I’d like to read about that.

Everything I see says the following:

As we previously reported, Chapman's girlfriend told police he attacked her on Oct. 30th -- choking and pushing her -- after she got suspicious about something on his cell phone. Chapman allegedly went to his garage and fired off several rounds by himself, but no one was hit.
She later changed her story and said he didn’t touch her.

Which, yes, absolutely means he’s an innocent little angel and did nothing wrong.

Rosenthal at The Athletic says the Reds are in on Wheeler:

    https://theathletic.com/1401490/2019...shared-article

Quote from article which is behind a paywall:
One agent predicts the Reds will pivot sharply to the free-agent right-hander after losing out on catcher Yasmani Grandal, who agreed Thursday to a four-year, $73 million contract with the White Sox. A rival general manager, without referring to Wheeler specifically, says of the Reds, “I will be shocked if they don’t spend big.”
The Reds could sign Wheeler and trade another starter. But simply adding to their strength also would make sense.

What a rotation that could be! Still like to see them work on the offense though.

With the way the Indians operate it’s about time to trade Lindor.

I would be all about that.....Wheeler and Bauer in the 3rd and 4th slot. The less runs they score, the less we must score to win.
