LOL. It's way more than that. Probably $60MM at least.

Maybe. Moose can play 1B, 2B and 3B. Senzel could play just about anywhere but SS and C. Suarez could move to LF. Or he could be traded.

    Re: Reds sign Moustakas

Moustakas is a low OBP, high SLG, LH bat that provides solid defense at 2B or 3B. He provides right around league average production overall. He actually hits lefties decently, so no need to platoon him.

A nice addition, but not a real game changer, imo.

The key will be the details of the contract.

Good move -- still have some $$$ for a LF or RF -- or a CF moving Senzel to a corner.

Definitely higher than I anticipated. Guess it shouldn't be too shocking though that the Reds foray into free agency comes with a premium, years of inaction essentially put them into a position where overpaying was probably the only way to land a target like this.
I dont care, Votto said of passing his friend and former teammate. Hes in the past. Bye-bye, Jay.

Suarez to LF makes a lot of sense. But the Reds would need to add a starting CF then.

He’s probably the 2B for the next two, maybe three years before sliding over to 1B

A nice addition, but wow ... that’s a lot of money. Not complaining because he gives them a LH bat with some thump, which was definitely missing from the 2019 club.

    Bingo. (and maybe faster).
The lowest acceptable payroll amount for ownership to show they are not greedy pigs is 15 million more than they are currently paying. No matter what that currently is.

The Reds aren't in a position where they can improve the team via FA AND make some really bargain deals at the same time. It's their time to move and they are going to have to pay to do it. This is a good signing. It's not without risk, but we've seen the "low risk" approach enough around here. Good job making a clear improvement at a weakness. Don't overthink this Redszone.

Well, some perspective....Grandal got $2M more than Mous and he was 0.7 bWAR lower. You're gonna have to pay for offense. He was the second best FA still available that we actually had a shot at after DiDi IMO.

My first reaction is that this is just another ploy to get people to think we're booing when we're chanting "Moose!"
