CHATTANOOGA - Nothing much else happened and they fall 4-1.

Zach Maxwell appeared in his 2nd game of the season. He has faced 8 batters and none of them have reached base. Maxwell has set 6 of them down on strikes.

LOUISVILLE - There is quite the pitching duel going on in the nightcap. The game is scoreless through 4 innings. Each time has just 1 hit.

Randy Wynne went the front 4 innings, allowing 1 hit and 1 base on balls.
Stevie Branche has pitched a scoreless 5th.

Levi Jordan has the Riverbats only safety - a single to start things off in the 4th.

How many more starts does Lowder get in Dayton?

Also, Collier crushed that one. If he can continue generating that sort of loft in his swing, he'll be fine - even if he becomes a LF/1B.

I'd like to know how hard he's hitting the ball and his swing plane. Last year, he had a tendency to chop down on the ball like an old-time leadoff hitter. (Stewart did in the first half too-- but he changed his swing enough to get some loft and went on to a very good season.)

H Rod and Collier are off to hot starts. Only 1 BB and 2 SO so far in 27 PA for Rodriguez lol. That guy is going to swing and put the ball in play. The Reds paid Collier like a top 10 guy in the draft, and he's starting to show why. O'donnell and Stewart are getting on base at the top of the order. Jorge looks a little over matched so far with 13 K's. I would say one or two more starts for Lowder if he keeps dominating then move him up. His WHIP so far is lower than it was in college last year.
