Billings lists on its roster the #29, #33, #35, and #45 picks from '03 as well. No info on the GCL Reds. So that's at least nineteen out of fifty.Originally Posted by CougarQuest

Hampered by arm woes in 2003 after being one of CMU’s most consistent pitchers in his first two seasons … had bone spurs removed from his pitching elbow after the 2003 season and coaches are expecting a return to form … posted a 1-6 record with a 9.00 ERA in 2003 … lone win came in relief in an 8-7 victory over Ball State … could be used as a starter but most likely in relief … pitched in 20 games in 2002, 19 of them in relief … had a 1-2 record with a 2.15 ERA and two saves … win was against Penn State … went the distance in lone start in a 2-0 MAC tourney loss to Kent State … appeared in a team-high 23 games in 2001, all in relief, and posted a 2-0 record with a 2.51 ERA … picked up wins over Virginia Tech and Northern Illinois … earned three letters in baseball at Flint Powers High … all-conference twice … second team all-state …

Later in the 36th, the Cardinals select Chris Bova, RHP, out of Ohio University.
The White Sox just picked GM Kenny Williams' kid.
I wonder if he should beat Pauly to the show (with another ML team) will princeton still give me cyber-candy?Originally Posted by Clemson

Never overlook the obvious
OU's Adam Russell was picked in the sixth round by the White Sox as a RHP. So that's three Bobcats drafted.
And Matt Harrington, he of the four previous drafts (1st round by Colorado, 2nd round by SD, 12th round by TB, 23rd round by Cincy in 2003) just got a 36th round slot from the Yankees.

Who do the Reds have scouting in OK?
37. Andrew Wells, LF, Union HS, Tulsa, OK.
Why do clubs pick these HS players when they're likely to just go to college? The only guys you can get to sign this late in the game are college seniors or maybe juniors. Yet everyone continues to do it. Are these draft-and-follows or something? How do draft-and-follows work?
Does everyone from the Puerto Rico Baseball Academy get drafted? Must be nice.
Jeff Russell's kid got picked in round 37.
38. Robert Orton, C, Florida Atlantic U.
Gotta go.
I think teams draft Matt Harrington now just to be funny.
The drafting team retains rights until next year's draft unless the player goes to a 4-year college. So he could play in the Cape Cod League, independent leagues, Mexican league, go to a junior college, work independently, rehab, whatever while the organization continues to negotiate. The most common route is to go to a junior college, see if they can get stronger or healthier or show something to indicate they're worth signing, and then either do a deal or don't.Originally Posted by Doc.
