Dang - with a scouting Report like that, this guy must a third eye, or he's a definite college guy.Originally Posted by Red Leader

I want to say they signed 25.
any Brackman sightings?
WOW! Let's get this guy to CincyOriginally Posted by Red Leader

Go Gators!
Mueller:Smooth, projectable righty threw in the mid-80s over the summer of 2003. Good athlete with "plus" arm-action.
Who wrote this scouting report anyway, Sparky Anderson?Originally Posted by Red Leader

Coello is intriguing-6'5" 210. 19th best HS C. Signed with S. Florida.
a power/power catcher, with a lithe, 6-5 frame. From the right side of the plate, he has light-tower power. The state of Florida is loaded with HS catchers for 2003 and Coello might be the sleeper.
Nichols is a strong verbal to Arizona.
The incompetence of this organization is evident.
Drafting a HS player in round 50 instead of a collegiate pitcher. Idiots! This franchise is doomed :mhcky21:
More on Coello (this is from last year). Coello is an interesting player with some of the biggest power potential in the showcase. He is big at 6'5 and has a very athletic body with a large shoulder girdle. So much room is there for him to add 30 or more pounds projects him best at an infield corner. He popped 1.95 to 2.0 in the skills, 2.10 in the game and his arm is above average so he might end up at 3B. At 1B he showed a good glove and plus arm. His best tool is his powerful bat. He generated a lot of bat-speed and really whips the head of his bat through the zone, late and hard. He showed topspin on many of his hits and if he let the ball get back in the zone further he might get more lift to compliment that power. We liked the look of that powerful swing. He could be a very high draft pick.

The last time I saw Monsignor Pace right-hander Robert Palencia he came in relief to beat Sarasota High School in extra innings. That night he dominated with an outstanding slider and curve ball to go with his 92 mph fastball. Today, the 6-foot-2, 200-pound right-handed pitcher, topped out at 89 mph and threw in the 86-88 range. He also throws a two-seamer in the 85-86 range. He showed a different delivery with his left foot wide open on the rubber as a timing mechanism. He throws the ball from the 11 o’clock arm slot with consistency.
Brad Jarrell has signed with a JC so he is likely a draft and follow. Also this from teamone:
Ben Price SS Terra Linda HS (CA)
Smooth fielding SS, but the bat has a ways to go. This is a draft and follow guy, but an interesting pick, because most of his time has been spent playing basketball. He may really progress quickly as a baseball only guy.

Let's see if they can at least improve on getting some of the higher ceiling guys signed this time.
One last report on HS CF Ecker. He has signed to play FB with Nevada-Reno but is greyshirting his FR year in order to play club BB and look for a school that will let him play both sports, the NR coach frowns on it. This is the reason the Reds could do a draft and follow as Teamone suggests:
As athletic as they come. Left hand hitter with four usable tools right now, very similar to Luis Gonzalez of the Diamondbacks. Expect to the Reds to work to sign him as the summer goes on, or to draft and follow. Great pick by the Reds, this kid was seriously under the radar.

Great job. Bill. Thanks!
According to BA Buck's "a candidate to be a late-round, draft-and-follow pick." Probably headed to a Juco.Originally Posted by jmcclain19
