That reminds me ... reading to the twins at bedtime was my task this past week. 5 books, sometimes one of them twice. Last was Tumble Bumble.

Tumble Bumple up the stairs!
They open doors and check for bears.
In one room, they found a bed.
"I'm really tired" the Crocodile said.

She stretched out beside her friend the bee.
The toad hopped in which made them three.
Then came the cat, yawning big.
Next one was the baby pig.
Then came the bug and last the mouse.
All tucked together in someone's house.

So, this is how the bug's walk ends
With eight (a spider hops down from the ceiling)
No NINE (a bear climbs in the window)
No, TEN new friends (as the boy comes home, with a baseball glove on.)

HOORAY!

Back, played with the boy for awhile. He needs to wind down. (I'm not usually a good remedy for that. :MandJ: )

Got some supper on the stove. Everyone can eat when they're ready.

The rain made for lousy driving. I'm glad they left as early as they did.

He probably needs to burn some energy too, after being cooped up in the car for that long.

Gonna warm up those roasted veggies? Those sounded very good, BTW.

I popped those in the toaster oven on warm. Only ones left are asparagus and brussel sprouts. I devoured the squash and onions the last couple days. TB hates brussel sprouts and TM hates asparagus. Worked out perfect. Something for everyone.

Still .... never got pumpkin pie. :MandJ:

I'll have to stop at Frisch's. It's stuck on the brain.

BTW ..... the one pie that my family had to have that only one person would eat was mincemeat. That's just freaking gross.

My mom got three pieces of pumpkin pie from the restaurant tonight to go!! The waitress gave us a weird look since we all had dessert, plus took pieces of pie for later tonight, but oh well. :MandJ: If you lived near me, TC, I'd let you have my piece, since I certainly don't need any more dessert tonight!!

Tomorrow morning, my stepsiblings are coming over, and we're having a "holiday brunch." Should be good food, at least.

That's only the last part. It starts

A tiny bug went for a walk.
He met a cat and stopped to talk.
And as they talked they strolled a while
And bumped into a crocodile.

or something like that.

They cry at the end of every story. Until you start the next one. Can't say "THE END" because one of the will have a fit.

Still, it works.

Ehh, they don't really like me all that much. My stepbrother is usually fine enough, nice but not exactly friendly, but then he's married and has a son to keep him busy. My stepsister was always used to being the baby and princess of the family... Then her father married my mom, started calling ME "Princess," buying me gifts, and paying attention to me. I think she's kind of jealous about that, especially since my stepdad and I get along rather well now. She and I have immensely different personalities, so it's tough to even have a conversation with her, even when she's attempting to be nice, which isn't always the case.

During these get-togethers, I usually pass the time by playing with my step-nephew. He's three, and I'm trying to get him interested in sports, since all his dad does is teach him about cars, trucks, and tractors. It's not working so far, but I'm not giving up... I'll make a Reds fan out of him yet!!

I LOVE THAT MOVIE!! However, I'm busy watching my Kansas Jayhawk/Chicago Bull Kirk Hinrich taking on the Cleveland Cavaliers... So far, the Cavs are winning (stupid Bulls stink, except for my Kirk!!).
