So this 21 year old Airman at work asked me how to spell an intimate act that starts with an f and doesn't end in a k. Do you think that's sexual harrassment? I'm not a whiny butt chick who would say anything about it, but I just wondered if anyone thinks it's questionable behavior. By the way, my answer was if you can't spell it, you don't need to be engaging in it.

He's immature and loud and thinks he's hot. I think he was just trying to make me blush. Obviously he doesn't know me very well cause it would take a heck of a lot more than that. Men can be such jerks. Present company excluded, of course.Originally Posted by Chip R

Was he saying it all "suave" like, trying to be cool, or just joking around? If it was the former I'd speak up. If the latter, I'd just shrug it off.Originally Posted by creek14
Harrassment at work always worries me.
My guy friends at work and I can make some raunchy jokes from time to time, but I'm always conscious of who's around and who gets the emails.
My department is filled with clerks and interns, and they are all typically young, college age females. Because the majority of the departments are 90 percent male, it can turn into a flirt fest/meat market near my desk, which is annoying as all hell. About Once every 2-3 months, one of them has to report to HR someone who's always coming over and spending way too much time and being way too flirty and won't take the "I have to work" hint.
I always follow the rule of never saying or sending anything that could be offensive unless they do first. Best way of all is just to keep it out of work. Saves me the trouble of worrying about it.
My 2 cents anyway.
He was writing a fake report saying Osama was seen having sex with sheep. He just thought this was so funny, while the other 3 of us in the room were trying to do real work. No one was really paying attention to him as he was reading his "report" and then he said "so Cindy (some people call me that instead of creek), how do you spell f......" The other two people in the room were men, so he was obviously making a point to get to me.
I'm not going to report it, but I can't say the other two men won't since they are both retired sr NCO's and were very offended. Probably more so than me.
I'm just going to store it and use it if he ever gets more out of hand.

Sounds like a good decision IMO. Just DO NOT let him persist in this behavior.
It's definitely creating a hostile work environment. If I was there I would have kicked his ass.

Aww, thanks!! You guys are too nice!! That's basically what my friend always makes me repeat- "If he doesn't like me, then it's his loss, because I am a wonderful girl."Originally Posted by Chip R

Is it just me, or is Curtis Leskanic kinda cute?
