    Simulation League

Our Simulation League, called the International Baseball Confederacy, based on Diamond Mind software has a couple of openings. I've never posted on this board, but I have read it now for a good 1/2 year and I know there a quite a few very intelligent posters and knowledgable baseball fans. In an effort to recruit more reds fans to this league, I am posting here. I am the lone reds fan in a league dominated by Bosux, Yankee, and Cards fans. Unfortunately the Reds are not available, as I occupy the franchise.

If you are interested, shoot me an email and I will give you a link to the league website and you can take a look. A very active league with very tenured GM's who know what they are doing. Been running 3 years now going on 4. I assure you, you will not be taking over a dump of a team. The open teams were recently redrafted in a mini draft, and have been built during the offseason by tenured GM's in the opposite league.

    Thanks,
    CincyinCO

    Re: Simulation League

The IBC is not a Rotisserie baseball league, it's different. It's more
involved, there are 30 teams and if you join you're either going to be
turned off by it pretty quick or it's going to suck you in and you'll
never make love to a woman the same way again... I mean... you may
never want to join a regular Roto baseball league again.
It can be a pretty significant time commitment sometimes, others it's
much less. Many of our members have been here for 3 years and have
put a lot of dedication into their team and they like to see similar
dedication from new members. If you don't know much about minor
league prospects, you should be prepared to start learning becuase
    they're one of the best
ways of building up a new team. Many of our membership like to think
of us as the best simulation around and we all strive toward that
    goal.
There's no cost to join or play or anything, we run off a program
called Diamond Mind Baseball http://www.diamondmind.com which you don't need to buy (though it does help), but checking out the site
will tell you about how the program works.
The best analogy I've been able to come up with, is playing an MLB
video game on autopilot. Each team plays a 162 game schedule (we use
MLB's sched) against other teams. In our league you have a 25 man
active roster, just like MLB. You set up a rotation, bullpen (closers, left/right relievers, mop up men, long relievers), and lineups (v. lefty starters and v. righty starters) as well as manager tendencies (Intentional walks more/less
    often, steal more/less, quick/slow hook, pinch hit/run more/less)
    which we adjust weekly.
Then when your team plays a game, the game produces a result for each
at bat based on the projected statistics for the batter and the
pitcher with some Park Factors included. Then it does the same for the
next AB and so on until the game is over and you have a result which
    gets e-mailed daily as boxscores.
When we set the league up, we had gotten bored with Roto leagues, we
wanted something more in-depth and more similar to the MLB so that was
how we tried to structure it. Aside from the day to day boxscores,
there's a pretty active trading community, waiver wire, a rookie draft
every January, Free agent signings, etc.
The IBC is an in-depth fantasy league, one which all our members are
proud to be a part of, if you want something that goes above and
beyond the usual 5x5 Roto league, this is it.
