    OMG.

He was the voice of a generation.

A sick and twisted voice, but an icon of my generation.

In his prime, he was magnificant.

    RIP, Gonzo journalism.

Oh man. That is sad news. I hate to say it, but not totally unexpected.

RIP Hunter, maybe you'll find peace now.

Surprising but not really. I just read a column by him the other day on ESPN.com. Very sad indeed. Loved his writing especially the political stuff.

With his fascination for guns, I'm thinking he went out like Hemmingway.

My favorite piece was his Kentucky Derby story. If you want to read a good sampler of his best stuff, buy "The Great Shark Hunt"

Wow just horrible news. One of my favorite writers ever. I was just wondering about him the other day he used to write for ESPN's website a lot and had not written much at all the last 3 or 4 months.

That was great stuff. I liked "Shark Hunt" and "Fear and Loathing on the Campaign Trail". I know it's not supposed to be one of his classics but I liked "Generation of Swine".

Re: Hunter S. Thompson Dead - Probably suicide

This is very strange for me. My wife and I sat down and watched the movie "The Whole Wide World" for the first time tonight. When it was over, I logged onto RedsZone and found out this news.

    Warning: Major movie spoiler ahead...

What's strange about that? Well, the movie The Whole Wide World is the true story of author Robert Howard. The movie ends with Howard's suicide.

Help stamp out, eliminate, and do away with redundancy.
