This is tough cause I have many, but these are the songs that best describe me.
1. Comfortably Numb-Pink Floyd, no matter what kind of day I have this song always mellows me and puts me in a GREAT mood. This has to be my all time favorite song.
2. One in a Million-GnR-Axl's most controversial song but I agree completely with the lyrics.
3. Voodoo Child-Jimi Hendrix-Growing up a pro-wrestling fan I used to imagine what a great entrance song this would be, then Hollywood Hogan began using it in his late 90s nWo days. I still remember the night watching the Backlash 2002 PPV at my townhouse in Charleston, WV. Hulk Hogan (one of my childhood heroes) had made a comeback to the WWF and defeated HHH for the title. Voodoo Child blared as Hogan posed for the crowd with the belt and as the PPV went off the air I'll never forget Jim Ross screaming "Hulk Hogan is once again, THE MAN!" I get chills thinking of it! And yes I know wrestling is fake, but when Hogan wrestles it takes me back to being a kid again! Really that is the only time when I am a pro-wrestling fan in these days is the few times Hulk wrsetles, but I miss it every once in a while.
4. You Could Be Mine-GnR-Listed this one cause it is also my favorite video. Arnold + GnR, it don't get no better than that! Arnold in Terminator just sums up what Rock N Roll is all about...Los Angeles, leather jackets, and Harley Davidsons (I wish I had not sold mine, but I'll get another one!).
5. Nobody Rides for Free-RaTT-granted RaTT isn't near being a great classic band but this song makes me think of one of my favorite all time movies Point Break, that movie sums up my personality in a nutshell, hardcore adrenaline junkie loving to live life on the edge, no drugs, no alcohol, just adrenaline rushes! The movie/song came out at one of my favorite times in my life, the early 90s, my grandparents were living, my best friend/favorite cousin wasn't a druggie, the hard rock was great (until that d0ucher Kurt Cobain ruined everything), and a decent time to be a Reds fan as well.
Starting five:
My Life - Billy Joel (first song I ever tape-recorded off the radio)
(Sittin' On) the Dock of the Bay - Otis Redding
The Boxer - Carbon Leaf
Sit Down - James
Cruel to be Kind - Nick Lowe
Second team:
Baba O'Riley - The Who
Just Like Heaven - The Cure
Close But No Cigar - Thomas Dolby (w/Eddie Van Halen on guitar)
The Kids Don't Stand a Chance - Vampire Weekend
Fall On Me - R.E.M.
Honorable mention:
Standing By - Actual Tigers
So Cruel - U2
Rockin' the Suburbs - Ben Folds
Cannibal Queen - Miniature Tigers
Buddy Holly - Weezer
"I can make all the stadiums rock."
