    Scam Alert

    http://safety.msn.com/articles/1061626.armx

The story and example are best viewed fromt the link above, it is related to some email scams that have been sent lately on the net. Their example is of one from MSN allegedly, I had an email yesterday exactly like their example claiming to be SBC.

I thought that I would post this just in case someone on here wasn't aware of it.

    Re: Scam Alert

there are also similar such email scams (called phishing, i believe) for eBay, PayPal, every bank and credit card company around...any place or company for which you have or might have private information stored.
unfortunately, there are many who fall for these. i have gotten many of these emails myself, most being for companies i don't even do business with. naturally, these go right into the recycling bin.
best bet is, when in doubt, don't even open the email up. absolutely don't provide that information through a link given through an email - even if the address seems legit.
fortunately, all things catch up with people, and hopefully the dishonesty of the people pulling these scams will catch up with them and destroy them.
