If they won't listen to Moses and the prophets (real ones, not this huckster), then they probably won't listen to anyone, even if someone were to come back from the dead.

So if the Pacific and Atlantic Oceans all flood, how does the rest of the world mysteriously escape the wrath of Allah? Does this have something to do with the flat earth dipping in the middle? Or maybe, just maybe, this could be far fetched?
Naaaaaaaaaaah.
Go Reds 2006! The final hoorah for MLB.
(I knew there was a reason Milton wanted that escape clause in 2007)

Anyone see the recent Tsunami special on PBS. Apparently, there's a volcanic island in the Canaries that some think is in danger of collapsing sending a Tsunami that would wipe out the Eastern Seaboard. But there's disagreement about the possibility of this happening. There's little disagreement about the Pacific Northwest where they have them every 500 years -- 300 since the last one.

Time to load up on the guns, ammo and bullet proof vests.
I never said they wouldn't continue to have success, or be believed, by their own devoted followers. Especially when their "charismatic" leaders find ways to explain away and justify those prophesies when they come and pass unfulfilled.Originally Posted by Redsfaithful
Charles Russell, who founded the JW's, and then the following JW "spiritual leaders" who have followed (Judge Rutherford, etc), have done a very good job at doing that just. They continually predicted Jesus' physical return to establish his kingdom via mutiple dates since the 1870's through the 1970's. They then quit setting those dates, because it was proving an embarassment (and their numbers have dwindled because of it), and now say that he did return, in 1917, and his invisible presence is currently establishing the kingdom. So the problem is solved right?
The new "hitch" is that the leaders, as they have had a habit of doing, took a scripture out of it's context where Jesus said "this generation will by no means pass away till all these things take place" (Matthew 24:34), and applied it to that prophecy, meaning that that generation born in 1917, during Jesus' invisible return, would not pass away, but would see that physical return to this earth. And I think time is running out again. So we'll see what that leadership does then.
When the blind lead the blind, then they both end up in a ditch.
But it will also be interesting because the Koran commands that false prophets are to be stoned.
A tsunami will wipe out America?
Hey bin Laden....
A boat might be handy for keeping all of that stuff dry during the tsunami.Originally Posted by CTA513

Actually, any tsunami big enough to wipe out all of the United States would probably erase Canada, Mexico and every Caribbean island nation. And Europe, Africa, Japan and Australia and the south Pacific would probably be destroyed as well. I guess the only region that would survive would be the Middle East.
Yea right.
Hey, we won't miss much. I've been hearing for years that the Mayan calendar predicts that the world will end at the end of 2012.
Personally, I think the guy that drew up their calendar just got tired and quit, but what do I know?
