    Happy Earth Day.

"We all have a stake--equally. Because if we do not save the environment and save the Earth, then whatever we do in civil rights or in a war against poverty will be of no meaning, because then we will have the equality of extinction and the brotherhood of the grave."

I went to the first Earth Day 1970 at Miami University. NRBQ played. I smoked pot. Along with eleventy-bazillion other people there. It was like Woodstock.

Trivia question: what does the abbreviation NRBQ stand for?
She used to wake me up with coffee ever morning

I know WOY knows this but it stands for New Orleans Rhythm and Blues Quartet.

    Here's a humbling excercise:

    Footprint Calculator

I thought I'd do well. I don't have a car, live in apartment, etc.. But it would still take 3.4 worlds to sustain a population of me's.

6.7 to sustain me. I can believe that. I like to live the high life.

    2.6 for me.

    I expected higher, frankly.

I am disappointed. I feel so tree-huggish. To make myself feel better... I will take a 1/2 day of vacation and drive a few hundred miles in my car.

Just for giggles, I tried to max out the number of planets someone could use:

    I got 19.9 planets.

    Can anybody beat that?

Jerry Falwell? Pres. George W. Bush? V.P. Dick Cheney? The Bush Twins? Laura Bush? Condi Rice? Babs Bush? Jeb Bush? Tom DeLay? Anything Bush?

The Bush Family may require an entire galaxy!
