    Most evocative mezzo-soprano

I'm listening to Janet Baker singing Mahler Ruckertlieder and I cannot think of an equal to her - Lorraine Hunt Lieberson is fantastic but Baker is sui generis. Can any mezzo-soprano compare?

How, then, are those people of the future—who are taking steroids every day—going to look back on baseball players who used steroids? They're going to look back on them as pioneers. They're going to look back at it and say "So what?" - Bill James, Cooperstown and the 'Roids

I'm more of a soprano fan myself (the singers, not the TV series).
