Aurilia not only playing but hitting second. I am dumbfounded.

    It's a god-awful small affair
To the boy with the greying hair
But his manager is yelling "No"
And his past rep has kept him in the show
But his range is nowhere to be seen
Now he walks through my sunken dream
To the seat with the clearest view
And he's hooked to the second slot
But the bat is a saddening bore
For he's lived it ten times or more
He could spit in the eyes of fools
As they ask him to focus on
Bunt Hits dragging in the infield
Oh man! Look at those cavemen go
    It's the freakiest show
Take a look at the coach man
    Always picking the wrong guy
Oh man! Wonder if he'll ever know
He's in the best selling show
    Is there life on Mars?

I'm absolutely baffled by this lineup and Aurilia's presence on this team. If Freel needed a day off, give Bergolla a start at 2nd and put FeLo at SS.

Championships for MY teams in my lifetime:
    Cincinnati Reds - 75, 76, 90
    Chicago Blackhawks - 10, 13, 15
    University of Kentucky - 78, 96, 98, 12
    Chicago Bulls - 91, 92, 93, 96, 97, 98

I had this strange feeling all day that he'd not only be in the lineup, but he'd be positioned in said lineup in such a way as to act as lighter fluid and a stiff wind on the blaze.

This is absolutely laughable. What is he trying to prove?

That he's smarter than the rest of us. Just like Boone used to do.

What gets me is that Aurilia gets chance after chance after chance. Austin Kearns has a slow start, and he gets buried on the bench.

Kearns hits two homers....still on the bench.
Aurilia makes two terrible plays in the field and goes 0-6.....moved up in the lineup.

    Makes no sense.

    Aurilia's OPS is now 594. That's Castro-esque.

    SWEET SASSY MOLLASSY!

I come home from a movie expecting a bad lineup, but not something like THIS!

It's Juan Castro all over again.

    Exactly. Give Bergolla some PT.

I don't get the impression that he thinks he 'smarter' than anyone. I think he throws names in hats and simply draws.

Re: 5/10 Lineups and Game Thread (Aurilia hitting second)

Serious question here: What, honestly, could be his rationale to this lineup? I, for one, can not guess. But I'm curious as to what others may think.

I dunno. I think he's going to be stubborn about this Aurilia thing because, doggonit, he knows that veterans are better, and he's going to prove it to everyone.

Right. Dave's dumber than bacon grease, and makes no effort to mask it.
