He was trying to do his job, but was interrupted by Marty making extremely sarcastic remarks about how Dunn feels about playing 1B. Marty was saying stuff like "Let me just tell you, when Dunn finds out he's going to play first base, his eyes just light up." This was right after Dunn turned that DP. So Steve just said "Well, he conducts himself well at first base nonetheless," or something like that.
