Is Bergolla striking out swinging on 3 pitches somehow better than Jimenez striking out looking on 7 pitches?

    Didn't think so.

    Two interesting things.

A pitching coach actually instructing a pitcher during a game who is having a hard time and little William Bergolla coming up again with 2 outs and a runner in scoring position. One worked and the other didn't.

On to the next inning, 2-0.

It's (I hope) too early to say this, but I think this game is over.

Have you noticed how much verve and elan and joie de vivre this team is playing with since their clubhouse cancer was removed?

    Everything's just sun and roses.

Belliard singles. The ball hit off Ortiz's face.

Ortiz looks like he was in a boxing match. Big shiner under his left eye and Ortiz has to come out of the game.

This offense needs to provide support for outings like this....Ortiz did not pitch that bad

3 runs should be enough for an offense to overcome -- and hopefully they will

Ortiz coming out after getting drilled in the eye on a sharp comebacker to the mound.
