If I'm the Nationals, Kearns doesn't see another strike the rest of this game if anyone is on base. I'd take my chances with Cruz, Valentin and Bergolla, and if they beat me, so be it.

    Leave it to Javy.

    Irregular BMs? Great band name.

I love it when a hitter is patient when a pitcher is all over the map.

The soft white underbelly of the Reds lineup.

If vargas is pitching, i don't think that will be a problem.

It'll be interesting to see how well Belisle pitches this inning.

Valentin actually did the Reds a favor. He managed to prolong Vargas' outing at least another inning, so the damage can be more evenly distributed throughout the game. That Valentin, quite the team player.

On a serious note, why the heck is he swinging at a first pitch when Vargas had walked two in the inning. and had thrown a ton of pitches?

If Belisle manages to make this a quick top of the second, Vargas will tire out quickly. So far so good, 3 pitch GO to Harris, followed by 2 pitch GO to Bennett.

1 pitch line out by Guzman, nice job Matt!

Even with Vidro, this offense blows corn, but without him, ugh.

I forgot Dunn was playing 1B for a minute. I was thinking "damn, he really does have a good arm...."

So, are the Nats afraid they'll miss the plane?
