Reynolds to answer questions after pick
Director of amateur scouting will be available to the media after draft

The 2005 First-Year Player Draft will begin at 1:00 p.m. ET on Tuesday. Reds director of amateur scouting Terry Reynolds will be available to the media for a few minutes immediately following the Reds' first pick (12th) in the third-floor lobby of the GABP administration building. He will not be available again until that day's draft selections are complete (approximately 5:00 or 6:00 p.m. ET). We will issue a press release after the first pick and then a second press release with all of Tuesday's picks. We will have a conference call with our first pick at a time TBA.

My question--What kind of drugs were you on while you made these picks?

Terry Renyolds, enough shall be said. He didn't do much with the Dodgers before. I didn't expect much from the Reds either after DanO ignorently named him.

Bailey and Bruce is about your only hope.

If you like this draft then you have to believe they Reynolds is smarter than everyone else and can see things that no one else can.

Looks like Charles Fisher should be Carlos Fisher

RHPs Kyle Wright (2) and Carlos Fisher (3) are the top starters on a Lewis-Clark State pitching staff that entered this year’s NAIA World Series with a 44-7 record and 2.37 ERA. The 6-foot-3, 170-pound Wright has an 88-91 mph fastball and an effective split-finger pitch that he throws nearly 50 percent of the time. Fisher, who was drafted by the Padres as an outfielder in 2001, has touched 93 with his fastball but his secondary stuff is questionable

I don't think our 10th rounder last year, Jason Urdiguez (sp), has been drafted again yet, perhaps we re-draft him too.

So does that mean we are still looking at Sardinha as our Catcher of the future?

Rosales SS is the Reds next pick

I didn't catch where he was from, or a first name, for that matter.

Depends on whether it is Lewis-Clark State or Lewis & Clark State.

Lewis & Clark State is here in Portland.
School's out. What did you expect?

That certainly seems to be the crux of it. Actually I believe I said pretty much the same thing last year.

I like this draft better than last year's because of Bruce and Ward. Lecure and Avery are wild cards. Yet most of the rest has been a steady parade of headscratchers. Roberts is particularly stunning, fast with no BB skills and often forced to DH because he can't field.

    Re: 2005 Draft Thread

    Here's the story on Rosales

Scouts love SS Adam Rosales (11) as a senior sign because he's a gamer with plus speed and above-average arm strength. They do question his stiff swing, however, and wonder if he'll be able to hit with wood. His arm and agility have some wondering if he'd take well to catching.
