I believe the draft starts at 1pm EST. Not 100% on that, but pretty sure.

Here's a link you can follow.

MLB.com has draft coverage as well, but I've found that this link updates picks much faster, especially after round 1.

Yes, the whole reason that we're in the mess we are today is due largely to the generally poor drafts since Kearns/Dunn.. The drafts produced a couple of other players, but the pipeline isn't nearly as stocked as it should.

Today is an opportunity to begin to reverse 5 years of incompetence. If Carl really wants to build a winner, he should give DanO orders to draft the best available player at every round.. make money no object. A lot of quality players slip into later rounds. Don't see that happening though

I can't see the Reds taking a Boras client.

I'd like to see the Reds take LHP Brian Bogusevic from Tulane. He was 13-1 with 2 complete games, 38/119 bb/k ratio had a 1.21 WHIP and held batters to a .239 BAA. He could be a good one.

There are other players out there that aren't Boras clients, that wouldn't be labeled as being drafted in the 12th spot just because they were "signable", but rather because they SHOULD have been drafted 1-10 because of their talent.

I agree with you, though. I don't think the Reds will take a Boras client, especially in the 1st round.

For quick reference, BA's top 400 draft prospects (200 hitters & 200 pitchers):

    Re: 2005 Draft

Pennington is scrappy...so I could see the Reds taking him. Not that I agree with it. If they are going to overdraft a middle infielder pick Jed Lowrie.

Oh and I'll be throwing things if they take Chaz Roe. High school pitchers get a big :thumbdown from me.

    Re: 2005 Draft

if the reds draft a position player it better be someone who can rake, else they need to stick with pitching, pitching and more pitching. Look for power arms.
