Ok, I have a huge Fire truck blocking my driveway, so I think I'm ok.

I did take a picture though

My house is the one there on the right with the two massive palms in the front

Anyway, I've got a pitcher of water nearby. Bring on the fire!

Heh, back to our regularly scheduled program.

    Woohoo draft day excitement

Hey Josh. Your neighbor needs to mow his gravel.

Frankly, I'm surprised that more houses in Phoenix don't spontaneously combust

Did Lance just say that we've signed our first round pick already? He sure sounded like he wants to be a Red thats for sure.

It's kind of funny that the list of players that most posters have been calling for since the 3rd round remain unpicked by anyone. It's seems like every team has certain info not available to us.

That's great news if that's the case.

    Get 'em started right away.

Here's a quote from Bruce from an article on the Red's website. Sounds like he is anxious to sign and get started:

    http://cincinnati.reds.mlb.com/NASAp...=.jsp&c_id=cin

The 6-foot-3, 190-pound Bruce signed to play at Tulane next year, but he said he is going to forego the college route to begin his professional career.

"I'm definitely signing," he said. "I'm a first-round pick. You can't ask for much more than that."

The article also says he will join the Reds team in Sarasota after he signs.

    Ok.
The Reds took Brandon Roberts, a CF from Cal Poly San Luis Obispo
and the very next pick the Orioles took Andrew Roberts a CF from Cal-State Fullerton.

How much you wanna bet that the Reds really wanted Andrew and screwed up the pick. Looking at Brandon's stats, I'm convinced that's what happened. If they truly wanted Brandon, they should just forfeit all remaining picks.

Both Reese Havens and Smoak are committed to South Carolina. It appears that Havens might have a stronger committment than anyone thought.

That being said, the Reds just made a true stinker of a pick and, even if Havens was a longshot to sign, it would still make more sense to pick him and try to buy him away from college.

Did the Reds just take him or are you throwing that name out?
