Pedro, Doc Scott and I went to see Bob Pollard last night.... 46 songs that I had never heard... well actually 42, we split before the encore because, well damn... I'm getting old.

Tommy Keene played guitar... that in itself was worth it IMO.

Re: What am I listening to?

Santana - All that I Am

I liked Shaman and Supernatural better, but this one's not bad. There are some musicians who can speak with their instruments...for me, Carlos and his guitar are like that.

The only other CD I've got on me at the moment is a personal mix ... goes like this:

    Concrete Blonde - Everybody Knows
The Dandy Warhols - We Used To Be Friends
Aretha Franklin - Chain Of Fools
    Eurythmics - I've Got A Life
Dashboard Confessional - Ghost Of A Good Thing
Adam And The Ants - Prince Charming
The Veronicas - Everything I'm Not
Keith Urban - You'll Think Of Me
Shawn Lee's Ping Pong Orchestra - Garden Funk
Jim Croce - Time In A Bottle
    Gavin Degraw - Follow Through
The Smiths - Is It Really So Strange?
    Jason Mraz - Curbside Prophet
The Cars - Touch And Go
Dave Koz & Brian McKnight - Love Changes Everything
The Format - The First Single (You Know Me)
Anna Nalick - Wreck Of The Day
Aaron Neville - Tell It Like It Is

    Hey, you asked...

If you never have you might want to check out Santana's Caravanserai (1972) and Borboletta (1974). Both really good albums.

I'm way late on the uptake here, but I had to put in that manchester still has a great music scene. Nothing like what it was then (you list all those 80s/early 90s bands all at once and it's almost unbelievable), but still quite unique albeit not as well known. A lot of stuff there is different to everything else being produced now, and Manchester musicians don't necessarily feel the need to head to London or the US like they do from almost ever other city in Britain, so they continue to build up their own great stuff without sounding like everybody else. It's kind of like a bubble over there. There's a ton of good modern stuff to check out from there and it's definitely a place well worth visiting if you want to see some good shows and talk to geniunely passionate musicians.

    [end Manchester selling point]

I'm listening to Kelley Stoltz's new album, which I like a whole whole lot.

Bought the new Disturbed CD, "10,000 Fists" last week. I cannot quit listening to the first 3 songs... pretty rockin' stuff. Someday I hope to listen to the rest of the CD!

I saw Bob at southgate house here in Newport just a few months ago. He is opening for Pearl Jam at US Bank arena in June and I'll be there.
