Well, its famous quotes and that is a most famous one from Mae West (#26). As for #13, I've never seen Love Story, but the quote has become part of culture (like Mae West's) and that was what they were going for.

My question is how could Its a Wonderful Life not be mentioned even once? Come on!!

Re: AFI's Top 100 movies quotes

Also, they have two from The Graduate (another movie I have never seen) and they have "Mrs. Robinson, are you trying to seduce me" rated lower than "Plastics" - what the heck is "Plastics?"

They showed a short clip, and I understand its probably funny and in context of the movie, but no way is that a better movie quote than the Mrs. Robinson line.

And as a film it doesn't quite suck, either.

How about this one for anyone in college after 1995:

"Principal: Mr. Madison, what you've just said is one of the most insanely idiotic things I have ever heard. At no point in your rambling, incoherent response were you even close to anything that could be considered a rational thought. Everyone in this room is now dumber for having listened to it. I award you no points, and may God have mercy on your soul." Billy Madison
