    just as bad as Aurilia batting 2nd and Dunn 6th is Pena 7th - having two of your better, young hitters batting in the 6 and 7 hole is no way to win ball games now, nor is it a way to teach them to win ball games in the future.

    Maybe the team would prefer to have veterans in the pressure slots in the lineup, and have younger hitters lower down. Maybe they think Casey and Griffey are more consistent than Dunn and Pena. Maybe they don't want all those strikeouts in the middle of the lineup.

    Actually, I wouldn't disagree if Dunn hit higher up, but I just think there is too much emphasis on these lineup configurations. I think Narron's lineups arre reasonable. The Reds score plenty with this lineup.

    These lineup issues are minor. The problem is pitching and, to some extent, defense.
