The first fountains of wayne album is brilliant IMO.
School's out. What did you expect?
Sinch is by far my favorite rock/metal band. I only know one other person who knows who they are.
I'd also submit Strata (they have a lot of room to grow, but I've seen them live three times. They put on a great show.), Finger Eleven (seen them twice), Maktub (funk rock), Greenwheel (rock band from St. Louis, had a song nominated for a grammy), and Lennon Murphy. I just listened to a Coheed And Cambria album. They're pretty good, although their vocalists high pitched 80's-ish voice gets a on my nerves a bit. Slipknot and Mudvayne seem to have become somewhat respectable this year. Still a bit too much pointless screaming for my tastes, though.
I was never so proud as the time when my vinyl copy of Low Budget arrived in the mail via my RCA Record Club membership..

It is...in fact their entire catalog is great. Right now I am listening to their b-sides collection that just came out, and it's ace.
