So is anyone for the Reds out there right now not lucky? I've never seen so much complaining for a game we're winning in my life. Standridge continues to perform, and it's beginning to show that it's more due to a very successful conversion to the bullpen rather than good fortune EVERY time he's out there. Gimme a break.Originally Posted by Aronchis
Kearns has seven extra-base hits in 57 atbats, or one XBH/8.14 atbats. Not bad at all. Plus his defense has been spectacular since returning. I still like the guy, and I stand by my prediction that he will OPS over .900 next season.

Kind of funny. I was one of like two people defending Kearns after the demotion fiasco--now they're crawling out of the woodwork. Life's strange.

Standrige - high ratio, low BABIP, low K rate. That is not a recipe for success. His only discernable skill has been the ability to keep the ball in the park.
Travis Wood sent Ogden down in order in his first inning of work tonight. Two flyouts and a strikeout.

It's like being married.
That's because Kearns has been "Sent the message", he's been humbled/humiliated now, so people are pulling for him.Originally Posted by Falls City Beer
Personally, I think he should've never been sent down in the first place.
If DanO had half a brain, he would've chosen between Pena and Kearns over the winter and dealt the other one for pitching. Instead, DanO had to screw around with moving Kearns to 3b, the demotion, etc.

Who cares?
He needed to get away and get his game/life together, I myself don't care that he had to do it in the ML, why should we?
He makes 900 K a year and is playing better now than he was when he was lanquishing around in May.
I defend the Reds for having the cajones to say, "go work it out"
