Overbay singles in a run. 4-3 Brewers. 1st and 3rd with no outs.

Well we knew the bullpen wouldn't keep it up. That's ballgame.

Sad to say, but I can never remember (and probably it's happened--I just can't remember) Sean Casey with a big hit to win a game in the last two years. Always a grounder to the right side. I know I'm wrong, but I just can't remember any.

That was probably our chance to win today and we blew it. ten in a row ain't too bad, though.

wow, they couldn't get the bunt down but get a hit instead. Whoda thunkit. Maybe bunting with your good hitters is a dumb idea.

If he had bunted them over, lee would have been walked and Jenkins pitched to.

Lee flies out to left. Oberbay goes to 2nd. 2nd and 3rd with 1 out.

When you bunt with runners on first and second and no outs, you are playing for 2 runs. You are trying to increase the chances of the runner on first scoring. With the added bonus of vastly increasing the chances of the other runner scoring.

It's like when you bunt with a runner on first and no outs, you are playing for 1 run, not 0 runs.

Great throw to home by Adam Dunn... an assist for sure, if only the guy had run.

Mercker hasn't been that great since the AS break. He usually allows a hit while he's in there and we couldn't afford that today.

Agreed. I do, however, remember him killing numerous rallies with double plays and failing to dig balls out of the dirt in the ninth inning of a game against the Cardinals on May 2nd. You know, the game in which the Reds blew a six run lead in the ninth.

Jenkins grounds to Casey who throws home but Hall just beats the throw. 1st and 3rd with 1 out. 5-3 Brewers.

when you give up an out(even when bunting two runners over) you are playing for ONE run because they premise for bunting is scoring without a hit.
