Why are there political/religious discussions on a Cincinnati Reds message board?I am not saying I am for or against it, it just seems a little odd.

The non-baseball side was created so it's members could interact/socialize on other issues while not "cluttering" up the baseball side. There was simply a demand for it.

While the Cincinnati Reds is the primary focus and our common interest - as many of us developed strong bonds/friendships over time, we also like to share/discuss other non-sports related issues. It's made alot of us even closer.

    Very true!

Yes they brought the jerk out in me in a larger sense, I still feel bad about it. Everytime I think of it, I feel like I need to deeply appologize to everyone again and again or just take my head off and kick it across the street.

Every category of life is being fixed at one time or another.

Go to any Cincinnati City Council meeting and there's shenanigans going on throughout most of the decisions that they're making.

Now if we could only get the rest of society to ban political/religious discussions we'd be on to something.

Either that or designate a seperate part of town, sort of like a seperate forum, as the only place you can talk about them.

That would be perfect. No more noise pollution.

We've had enough political-based threads started lately that I strongly recommend anyone unfamiliar with our policy reread this thread.

Respectfully, I disagree. The Japanese Tsunami, Mason sex scandal and whether a boy wrestler should wrestle a girl wrestler are not inherently "political".
My dad got to enjoy 3 Reds World Championships by the time he was my age. So far, I've only gotten to enjoy one. Step it up Redlegs!

OK, let me rephrase that: we've had enough threads that were not inherently political turn political lately.

    That I can't argue with.
