Wily Mo has the kind of power that can win you a dozen games a year all by itself.

For all he's been through this season, Nomar's got his batting average up to .287 and his OPS creeping up around .800.

The Reds hit three homeruns tonight to give them exactly 200 on the season. I believe the team record is 223.

We'd need to trade Milton and face him every game to break that record now

CTA513 your PBP is impeccable! Thanks!

I just watched the first couple of innings but I want comment on the Cubs announcers at the beginning of the game. They came on with some outlandish scenario that if the Cubs went 15-4 and everyone ahead them were to play under .500 then the Cubs would get the wild card. Yea,right! Keep Dreaming! I couldn't believe they still think they are in the wild card chase.

    RE: Home Runs

Team record (still) is 221 set in 1956. It was a long time NL record at one point. (tied with the 1947 New York Giants)

    The Reds now have 4 seasons with 200+ HR - 221 in 1956, 209 in 1999, 200 in 2000, and 200 (and counting) in 2005.

According to the standings, the Cubs have been eliminated. Maybe they hadn't been when the game started, I didn't look until this morning.

From the division, I believe, not the Wild Card. I think the Reds are still in the running for the Wild Card.
