    blues fans?

The BB king record has been released - I am playing drums on three songs with John Mayer, Hall and Oates and Gloria Estefan. It is titled "80".
A Joan Osborne Christmas record will be released in about a month or so as well.

Just so this isn't just a stupid announcement..
    What's your favorite Blues album?

mine is the very best of Jimmy Witherspoon. (*hard to pick just one)

Wally, I saw that in the weekly flyers and was wondering if it was the one you were talking about. I'm definitely going to get it. What a gig for you!

    End of shameless plugs.

I'll have to check that out, Billy.

Oh, man, that's such a tough choice. I'd probably say either "Hard Again" by Muddy Waters or "Live From the Cook County Jail" by B.B.

There's a book out called "Machers and Shakers". It's all about tthe early Chess days - recording the blues with the great ones when they were young.. a beautiful book with lots of insight into the real deal back then. Highly recommended. Don't remember the author - i read a preview copy...

and yes.. King Albert! Where would Clapton be if albert wasn't there first?

I really like Joan Osbourne. She's wonderful w/ the Funk Brothers in the "Standing In The Shadows Of Motown" concert. What all's on the Christmas album?

sweetstop - it's the usual fare I suppose. Nothing nobdy hasn't heard before, but it's different too. This is one those "special" releases - only available through Barnes And Noble. The music biz is getting it's butt kicked - and I think that's a good thing.

Due to financial restrictions, we did it very quickly - yet, I have a feeling it's gonna be really good. I don't say that too often.

Goin' Back Home by Howlin' Wolf is a really good one.

I dig anything pre 1970's Chicago. Don't like all of the flash that came around later (sorry to all of you Buddy Guy fans out there).

Anything by Lightnin' Hopkins. He started doing some really creeepy stuff, and he had this way of kinda talking throughout his songs. He was a real unassuming cat. Probably my favorite.

Wow, that's really cool. What three songs to you play on?
