I've seen some parts of the 2006 schedule. I heard they're opening up with the Cubbies and will be playing in Detroit and Chicago (AL) for interleague. Has anyone seen the entire schedule for 2006?

I don't think the complete schedule is released until the end of the season, but I remember hearing the only AL cities they're visiting are Cleveland and Detroit, with Chicago, Kansas City, and Cleveland coming into Cincinnati for interleague. You're correct about opening at home with the Cubs.
Full schedule's usually not released until mid-October. I think it was even later last year.
Cubs on Opening Day again??

Bummer, I rather enjoyed watching the Mets implode over during the first series this year....I was hoping they would like to be a visitor again next April...Originally Posted by redsfan30

Cubs and Pirates have been the traditional opening opponents for most of the franchises history. Back in the day it was one day at home, a travel day and then Opening Day at their park.Cubs on Opening Day again??

Perhaps the REDS should start each year on the road? We all know what happened during the season when they last did this...
Just learned the Reds will be announcing their 2006 schedule later this afternoon.
reds have almost always started their opening day games at home, and there shouldn't be any change to it, atleast i think.Originally Posted by RedFanAlways1966
i think they should go back to the reds play the first game of the season at home. just because of the history behind the team.
Some major AL draws there, I tell ya! Maybe we'll get lucky and see the White Sox manage to squeak into the postseason, then do well enough that they're able to generate some attendance revenue for us in our series next season.Originally Posted by Big Donkey

Getting sick of the Cubs
Contract em
Go Gators!
Cool - barring injuries (or a permanent move of Wood to the bullpen) it looks like the Reds will open the season facing Prior, Wood and Zambrano.
Oh joy.
