The Queen of Technicolor, Maureen O'Hara, passed away at the age of 95

While it happened four days ago, I couldn't let it go unannounced.

She was known as the Queen of Technicolor because of her brilliant red hair, large emerald eyes, and silky white complexion. When Technicolor was at it's peak, she was defined as the reason why it existed.

Ironically, O'Hara, who passed away at the age of 95, was best known for her roles in black-and-white movies..."How Green Was My Valley", "Miracle on 34th Street", and "The Hunchback of Notre Dame".

John Ford captured her Irish Spirit and beauty perhaps best in "The Quiet Man" with John Wayne.

Never nominated for an Academy Award, was awarded an honorary Academy Award this year.

I saw that the morning after she passed. Personally, I think she was the greatest actress of her time frame.

One of my favorite older actresses of times gone by. I always watch Miracle on 34th street every Christmas season. She may have been last one alive from that film. RIP

O'Hara is to be buried at Arlington cemetery today. She was married to an Air Force General until his death in the 70's.
