It's the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown
It's the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown
Shaun of the Dead (unexpected English drollery and zombies)
Evil Dead, Army of Darkness (Raimi's awesome, even if his name is impossible to spell)
Prince of Darkness (Alice Cooper and AJ Simon)
Darkman (See Raimi, above, add in Liam Neeson. Repeat spelling crack.)
The Excorcist, Part III (Patton meets Satan)
Night of the living dead (original)
Dawn of the dead (original)
Land of the dead
Dead Silence (I hate puppets and scary, tongue-cutting, dead ladies)
Shaun of the Dead.
Day of the dead (original)
(Also a little biased on zombie movies)
Let's make some noise!
It depends on what you want for Halloween? Scary or classic monsters?
Exorcist
Shining
Psycho
Halloween (loved the first one. After that? Blah!)
IMO, you can't go wrong with the old Universal horror movies.
Since I got Directv, I love the Chiller Channel. They've been showing the Hammer films lately. I loved those growing up.

Hello 2005! Hilarious.
Regardless, would HAVE to include one (probably more) Romero movie.
Here's a nice horror jambalaya for with a little bit of everything, But 5 was too few for me I gotta go with 10.
10.) 13 Ghosts (shannon elizabeth and a bunch of cool monsters, sweet)
9.) Damien the Omen (pretty much the whole series)
8.) Salem's Lot (scared the crap out of me as a kid)
7.) Sleepaway Camp (as cheesy as it was memorable and freaky)
6.) Day of the dead (Any and all Zombie movies but mostly new ones)
5.) The Stand (still cheesy but very unforgettable)
4.) Dusk Til Dawn (Selma Hayek is awesome and Vamps make for great flicks)
3.) Halloween (the Rob Zombie version)
2.) The Hills have eyes 2006 (some really gruesome creatures here)
1.) The Devils Rejects (I can't help it I like warped stuff)
Actually looking at it I am still missing some favorites and not real sure about the order but most if not all of these are on it.
"You can't let praise or criticism get to you. It's a weakness to get caught up in either one."
--Woody Hayes
Mario, i'm surprised since Devils Rejects is no 1, House of 1000 Corpses is nowhere on your list. It's even more warped than Devils Rejects.
I've really become hooked on the Saw movies. It's become somewhat of a Halloween tradition. Saw V is coming out this fall, so im definitely going to see it.
Blair Witch Project. loved it.
I am Legend
Shaun of the Dead.
The Sixth Sense
for number 5, i suggest reading a book: The Hot Zone. scared the living crap out of me.
Dubito Ergo Cogito Ergo Sum.
I don't know if he has been mentioned or not, but I'd add H.P. Lovecraft
The Unnamable
The movie was average and loosely based on Lovecraft's original book, but the creature scared the crap out of me.
Dunwich Horror
Re-Animator
From Beyond

The Omen
The Exorcist
The Shining
Halloween
....... not sure of 5th. Need to think about it. This is the time of year when I collect all my scary movies and watch them throughout the month.
"Whatever you choose, however many roads you travel, I hope that you choose not to be a lady. I hope you will find some way to break the rules and make a little trouble out there. And I also hope that you will choose to make some of that trouble on behalf of women." - Nora Ephron
Here are three vampire movies, which make them perfect for Halloween:
Underworld--starring Kate Beckinsale
Van Helsing--co-starring Kate Beckinsale
Underworld: Evolution--starring Kate Beckinsale
Hmmmm....I'm detecting a pattern here.......
"Hey...Dad. Wanna Have A Catch?" Kevin Costner in "Field Of Dreams."
They're making the 3rd in the series which is to be a prequel centering more on Victor.
But you're going to be disappointed because Kate won't be in it. She said she's down with the role, and wants to "expand" her acting abilities/roles.
Gee, after Van Helsing and Underworld, what's left for her?
She'll always be a vamp to me though.
