    That's what I used to think. The link I posted above said that the original reason was to save energy (people would be awake with the lights turned on for a shorter period of time).

    Wasn't the original purpose for DST to aid the farmers? If not, then what was it?
    Add some sembalance to time so that the Trains could keep schedules.

    Here in Indiana we don't touch our clocks, except in a few counties in the region arounf Chicago, Louisville, and I think Cincinnati, but My Man Mitch Daniels has started the ball rolling for clock reform Somehow they are working in a plan to allow each county to decide whether to be on Eastern or Centralall year round. I haven't really followed it- since they don't actually change true time. I am in Terre Haute and this county is looking at Eastern, but the counties directly north and south will go Central. What a mess. Nice job, Mitch.
    I've been to dinner at Jimmy Buffet's house, and I've eaten it at a homeless shelter. And there's great joy and harrowing terror to be found in both places.
