Bowls Announced - ND gets OSU in Arizona

Finally, the Irish can't duck the Buckeyes anymore

Should be interesting. Wasn't sure if AARP was sponsoring the Orange Bowl.

USC & Texas should be entertaining.

Good job by the BCS - except for the minor disturbence in Eugene, Oregon.

OSU was guaranteed by the provision in the BCS contract that puts an at large that is 4th or higher in as an automatic.

Notre Dame benefited from a similar provision that they get for being 6th or higher.

To me, seeing the Bucks and the Irish go head to head will be almost as good as 2003's Championship game

    My picks:

    USC rolls over Texas.

OSU in a close win over Notre Dame.

    West Virginia shocks Georgia.

Penn State knocks off FSU is a close game.

Oregon is screwed for the second time since 2001.

If it would help, we could post links here to sites with lyrics and music to both schools' fight songs. That way you would know what the fans are singing and could even sign along.

And I learned last year that if you meet a group of Buckeye fans on the street and they yell out "O-H!" the correct response is "I-O!"

BTW, jm, could your Wildcats be the Pac-10 team that gets screwed next year? Willie Tuitoma and Michael Thomas form a solid core of offense to build around, the defense is already solid, and 'Zona is bringing in another solid recruiting class. I could definitely see Arizona having a great 2006 season and potentially reaching 9 or 10 wins. They just may be next year's version of Penn State.

Sadly - I know both quite well. ND was in the Fiesta a few years back where they got pummeled by Oregon State. They were here again last year, where they again lost to the Beavers. OSU obviously has been here a few times in the last few years.

I go to the Tempe Block party every year which is always teeming with fans from both Fiesta Bowl teams.

How many articles can be written about the hometown boy (Quinn) leaving town and beating the hometown team? Las Vegas Over/Under ought to be at least 100.

Didn't the Buckeyes and Irish have a home and home within the last decade?
