Desparado and Hotel California are the only 2 good albums, the others have some hits, but as a whole are forgettable.

Plus the Eagles have been shoved down our gullet for the past 30 years,

Re: Top Five Favorite Bands EVER

Since nobody mentioned what kind of bands, I feel that I can chime in here. Maybe someone else will actually have heard of some of them, but I won't hold my breath.

    1. The Bothy Band-They're no longer together, but they didn some great stuff in the 70s.

    2. Matt Molloy-Used to be with the Bothy Band, but does solo stuff now.

    3. Kevin Burke

    4. Dervish

    5. Rich Mullins-sadly no longer with us, but did some great stuff

    Top Five:
    1. Dave Matthews Band (I'd say "pre-Everyday" but I don't think any band could live up to the genius of a CD like Before These Crowded Streets)
    2. Oasis
    3. The Who
    4. Flogging Molly
    5. The Beatles

    Honorable Mention:
    - Carbon Leaf
    - R.E.M
    - Dropkick Murphys
    - O.A.R.
    - Toad The Wet Sprocket
Cincinnati Reds: Farm System Champions 2022

I can't pick 5...I have too many favorites, and like too many styles....but I'd say somewhere in the mix, Metallica has to be mentioned.

Caveat, nice inclusion on Flogging Molly there.

Used to see the Dave Matthews Band all the time when they were on the Virginia circuit. Can't say I've ever liked them, but there's only so many things to do in Harrisonburg, VA. Plus, it drives fans crazy when you tell them about how you used to tip beers with the band (mind you, they smoked more than they drank).
    I'm not a system player. I am a system.

I missed it; who named Icehouse? I have a worn-out cassette around here somewhere of the Australian release of their first album (I lived there then), when the band was called "Flowers" and the album was called "Icehouse."

The Devil lives inside the Icehouse
At least that's what the old ones say,
(They say, "he came a long time ago"),
He came here with the winter snow,
and now it's colder every day...

There's no love inside the Icehouse....

edit: Of course! It was the Australian!

Before These Crowded Streets was a great album from start (Pantala Naga Pampa->Rapunzel) to finish (Spoon->The Last Stop Reprise). Each song has a great moment and overall the album flows beautifully.

The Lillywhite Sessions/The Summer So Far had some absolute gems, despite many of the songs being so raw. I think if that record could of been completely finished with Lillywhiteit could have of rivaled BTCS (I feel that Busted Stuff while decent never did the songs justice although it did produce You Never Know). The Captain recording for example of those sessions sounds beautiful to me and its too bad that songs like JTR and the Sweet Up and Down never made it to an official studio release and have fallen out of the bands favor over the past few years.

But unfortunately the sessions went sour and then along came Glen Ballard and Everyday. The band is said to be going back in the studio with Mark Batson (Ugh.) again this March and hopefully it will turn out better than Stand Up did. But the most important part to me is how the band is live and many of the Stand Up songs grew over the past two tours but if next tour they continue to play the 13 minute Dreamgirl I will be .

An old GF, from many, many years ago, was a huge Icehouse fan. It's why I broke up with her.
