    Good Year! I am April 25th...though I looked it up and the Reds finished 5th in National league that year with an 86-76 record and on the date I was born they lost to the Dodgers 7-1. No wonder I came out crying.....

    I can't wait until RFS62 sees this thread and tells us about baseball when he was born. I love stories about the 1860's.

    1968 -Year of the Tiger.

    Denny Mcclain went 31-6 at age 24 and was out of baseball by the time he was 28.
    School's out. What did you expect?

    1969 - The year the Mets won the World Series 4 games to 1 over the Orioles becoming the 1st expansion team to get to and win the World Series.

    The Reds that season finished 89-73, 4 games out of 1st place.

    Pete Rose lead the majors that year with a .348 average and had 218 hits for the season.

    Tony Perez had 37 HRS and 122 RBI's that year.

    Willie McCovey was the NL MVP and Harmon Killebrew was the AL MVP.

    Tom Seaver was the NL Cy Young Winner and Denny McClain and Mike Cuellar shared the AL Cy Young Award

    Ted Sizemore won the NL Rookie of the year and Lou Pinella won the AL Rookie of the year.
