I dunno, it seems to me that Paramount is going to leave it be for awhile, and I agree..it's a good idea.

I'd love to see another Serenity movie. That was the best Sci-fi pic I have seen in years.

Re: Random Movie News and Rumors

The best thing Star Trek can do right now is go dormant for a decade or two and then resurface with new people who can introduce the concepts to an entirely new generation of fans, like what the producers of the new Battlestar Galactica have done. Those guys should reall be commended from taking what amounted to a sci-fi joke and turning it into one of the top two or three shows on television, IMO.
The original Battlestar Galactica was pretty well-written and had a compelling storyline, but it was undone by cheap, frequently-reused special effects, and the awful "Galactica '80" spinoff didn't help.

The new BSG combines that same compelling storyline with excellent acting, stunning effects, and unbelievably good cinematography (computer-generated space battles accentuated by shakey, hand-camera style pan and zoom techniques). I think it's the best sci-fi show ever.

Firefly was a helluva series for one season. Too bad Fox doesn't have a clue when it comes to sci fi. They recognize good science fiction, then ruin it with scheduling problems.

Finally, I have been hearing about this movie for what must have been like ten years now.

He'd never do it -- he's simply too selective about his roles to be cast in a schlocky genre film. He'd especially be stupid to throw his lot in with a dying franchise like Star Trek.
    Schlocky?

I can see Hanks doing a Trek film, especially if Paramount can get Bryan Singer to direct it.

Hanks was supposed to play Cochran in First Contact but the schedules didn't work out.

Anyone excited about Resident Evil: Afterlife? i thought that RE:Apocolypse was o.k. at best, but Resident Evil was a great movie to me, and hopefully the 3 installment is as original as the first.

When I see that they gave Queen Latifah a spot on the Hollywood Walk Of Fame, then that says alot about "acting" in Hollywood anymore.

Betty Davis and Spencer Tracey must be roling over in their graves.

I really doubt it was for her movie career, but I'm too lazy to check. They have symbols on the stars for either recording or movie achievement.
