National Championship thread - USC / Texas

Beautiful pass from Leinert and then a brutal helmet-to-helmet right in front of the official, not called.
". . . acquiring J. Blanton from Oakland for, apparently, Bailey/Cueto, Votto and a lesser prospect. I do it in a second . . . The Reds' equation this year is simple: Make Matt Belisle your #3 starter . . . trade for Blanton, win 85 or more, be in the mix all summer." - Paul Daugherty, Feb. 8, 2008

Texas is playing dirty. Cheap shots on Kirtman and Leinart.

I think they are just too wound up to play. (too many beanies??? just kidding). Waiting a month to play can do that to you.

This is a key series coming up. USC could start to run away with this. The turnover and not making on 4th down not a good start for Texas.

Another bonehead play by Texas. Facemask when they were going to get the ball extends play for SC.

Boneheaded call by USC. Lendale White may be the best power back in the country...and you QB sneak it. Could shift momemtum to Texas. Stupid call.

Those last two runs just made your case even better. But, maybe USC was setting them up? :

Texas kills off another drive with a fumble. They recovered it but that pretty much stopped that drive.

Bush tries a lateral on what would have been a big play and gives the ball back to Texas.

    Dumbest play EVER!

USC is giving this game away. They could be on their way to a 21-0 lead with just smart football.
