TORONTO -- Pitcher Ben Weber agreed Wednesday to a minor league contract with the Toronto Blue Jays and was invited to spring training.

The 36-year-old right-hander spent last season with the Cincinnati Reds, going 0-0 with an 8.03 ERA in 10 relief appearances. He spent most of the season on the disabled list with a bulging disk in his neck.

He also appeared in 18 minor league games for Cincinnati farm teams, going a combined 1-2 with a 3.32 ERA.

Good luck. Maybe the Glasses will be a big hit in Toronto.
It's absolutely pathetic that people can't have an opinion from actually watching games and supplementing that with stats. If you voice an opinion that doesn't fit into a black/white box you will get completely misrepresented and basically called a tobacco chewing traditionalist...

I guess that's one of the season's success stories for the pitching staff. I predicted a lot more neck problems in the spring than actually happened due to the quick turn to watch hard hit balls sail. I'm surprised it was just Weber, so hats off to the strength & conditioning coach for the extra neck strengthening exercises.
