Eugene is farther away than Corvalis (where the OSU Beavers play)

The Beavers has been the baseball teams name in PDX almost its whole existance, except in the NW League in the early 20th century and the non PCL leagues in the past 25 years.

The Beavers will be the name.

I also think I've found a new hat to purchase - nice "P" - almost looks like the Phillies "P" in the 50's & 60's.
Some people play baseball. Baseball plays Jay Bruce.

I wouldn't bet on it. Not that it shouldn't be but whomever owns the team may want something alliterative like the Portland Pikes or Oregon Oregonians. Or they may just decide to keep the name of the team that moves there. Or they may decide to pick some goofy name that is "marketable".

It will probably be something like Portland Patriots. We love Patriotism in this day and age. :
