    Cubs sign Wade Miller

    to a 1-year contract per CNNSI.com

Another potential starter off the market, not that he would be a huge upgrade but an upgrade nonetheless if healthy.

Missed opportunity for the Reds IMO, Miller would have been worth a 1 year incentive laced deal.

DanO was still looking in his binder for on how to spell "Miller"
Some people play baseball. Baseball plays Jay Bruce.

From what I've read about Miller, his arm injury was pretty serious. It's doubtful he'll ever be even a shell of his former self.

Labrum injuries are nearly impossible to recover from.

Wade will be lucky to be able to use that pitching arm to put on his cap. No thanks.

Hey, guys. maybe it's time we stop thinking in this vein. With the great start from the Castellini regime...maybe we can finally start thinking in terms of getting some legitimate, uninjured, quality pitchers. There was some reason that the trade for Mota was pulled. It could be that things are going to be even better than we dare think!!! We finally have some hope.

Mota isn't a starting pitcher and unless along with the GM position the owners have also changed their mind about payroll there is no way the REDS will acquire a frontline, established, uninjured starting pitcher this season.
