    Removing iPod scratches.

So, like everyone, I scratched up my iPod Photo's acrylic screen within only a few weeks of buying it.

I've been flipping through reviews, etc. of some of the scratch-removing products out there, and have yet to find a consensus on the best one.

Everyone wants to talk about how Brasso will remove scratches from the chrome backing of the unit, but I've got my iPod in a Speck Toughskin case so the back isn't really visible.

So if we ignore what products do for the chrome/metal portions, anyone had any success with getting scratches off the screen?

Doc, fortunately I have avoided scratches on my iPod Mini thanks to its aluminum case and the fact that I kept the plastic on the faceplate.

I have another forum that I visit for advice on all things Apple. Here's a thread with three recommended products. FWIW, it says that Brasso is AOK for the plastic as well as the metal.

Brasso works on the front? Are you sure? I thought it was metal polish.

Doc - I use the Icleaner.

I got the review off of Ipodlounge where they rated it quite well

There are quite a few user comments on that site about it

They also rated the Radtech stuff quite well, although I personally have never used it

In general, I've found the Ipodlounge community a good way to see what works and doesn't work in regards to accessories. I've had excellent luck picking and choosing what they seem to like as a group.

How badly was your iPod scratched? I have heard of and perused iLounge, in particular when it came to discovering the PodUtil program that lets me take mp3s off my iPod.

    Re: Removing iPod scratches.

I had a nice quarter inch scratch on the screen that it did a good job of limiting.

My screen had also gotten a little foggy over time (I've had my ipod for almost 2 years now).

I was lucky enough to pick up some of that plastic film stuff to protect my iPod screen. It's worked great. No scratches.
