    Kevin Brown

Has Kevin started throwing yet to see how his back is? He would be a good pickup if healthy.

Brown has had good years when healthy, but Kevin Brown hasnt been healthy in years.

I always thought he'd be an interesting pickup if he could get his body to the point where he could pitch once a week, kind of like Ted Lyons used to way back in the day. I don't know if he'll be able to get to that point though.

I'd only pick him up if he signed a dirt cheap contract filled with incentives to intice him.

I give certain pitchers a lot of leeway, I can be very understanding. Kevin Brown is DONE. DONE DONE DONE. I have not seen him pitch well in a very long time, and with his age I don't think there's any chance of him recapturing his former glory. I really do think he should retire.

Actually he didn't do too bad the year before last. I would sign him to a "cheap" minor league contract and invite him to spring training but I truly wouldn't expect much. However if by some miracle he was able to stay somewhat healthy throughout the season he would be the "Type" of pitcher we could use. Groundball pitcher who can also field his position. At least he used to be.

The year before last was the year he put his fist through a wall and was out the whole end of the season. He came back just in time to get murdered by the Red Sox in both games 3 (saved only by Arroyo's equally horrendous performance) and 7 of the ALCS.

I was his biggest defender through his troubles up until that point. That's when he started to make things a little difficult.

I've said before I wouldn't mind seeing the Reds take a minor league flier on Brown.

However, the guy is coming off of making $15 mil last year. Accepting a minor league contract would be one major bitter pill to swallow. I highly doubt he ever pitches again.

This is nothing more than another example of a FORMER star trying to hang on long after he is finished. Pass!
