Looks like there's an easy way out, though. Just pitch a tent and camp out in the top left corner and you'll pretty much get an automatic 15 seconds. It seems like it speeds up around the 18-20 second mark, and that's when it starts getting interesting.
EDIT: Did it again and got 29.906 seconds. It speeds up a second time at about the 25-26 second mark.
